RESIDENTS can get a glimpse of the fashion styles that swept the 1950s in an exhibition at Havering Museum.

An Exhibition of 1950s Fashion and Glamour explores how the fashion and music that defined the decade came to be.

Peter Stewart, chairman of Havering Museum, said: “Visitors can relive their teenage days by playing the pop songs of the decade on the juke box that is a feature of the exhibition.

“It has attracted a great deal of interest especially from our over-50s members of our regular Variety Club and Reminiscence Groups.

“Come along and take a walk back through time to the 1950s when the likes of Christian Dior, Coco Chanel and Hubert de Givenchy became household and ’must have’ names.”

The exhibition, supported by Arts Council England, is on loan to the museum until September 2.
